Reed earned his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 2007, where he served as the Managing Editor of THE JOHN MARSHALL LAW REVIEW. During law school, Reed excelled in Bankruptcy Law. He received the CALI Award in his Bankruptcy class, and was a semi-finalist in the Conrad B. Duberstein National Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition. Prior to joining Frank/Gecker as an Associate in 2007, Reed spent two years clerking for the firm as a law student.

In 2003, Reed graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in Business Administration. Currently, Reed serves on the Board of Directors of the Hugh H. Housen Memorial Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation that raises funds for cancer research.
